Final Team and Individual Results
LAS VEGAS - USF's women's golf team turned in its best round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showcase on Tuesday and finished 11th in the 18-team field.
Three USF golfers - Alison Lillie, Ayaka Suzuki and Vanessa Ha - shot even par rounds of 72 on Tuesday to help the Dons to a 4-over team score of 292. At 890, USF finished 26-over par for the 54-hole event which was hosted by UNLV at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.
Minnesota, which began the day in fourth place and nine strokes behind first place San Diego State, shot a final round 10-under 278 to gain a share of the team title with the Aztecs at 863 (-1).
UNLV's Dana Finkelstein shot a final round 65 (-7) to overtake Haleigh Krause of San Diego State to capture the individual title with a 9-under score of 207. Finkelstein was nine strokes off the lead heading into the final round but earned the title with a brilliant final round as Krause struggled to a 77 after opening with rounds of 65 and 68.
Sophomore Alison Lillie moved into a tie for 30th place after a final round score of 72 left her at 222 (+6) for the event. Lillie's Tuesday card featured two birdies against two bogeys.
Ayaka Suzuki moved up seven spots into a tie for 36th place after her final round 72 left her at 223 (+7) for the tournament.
Junior Clare Sorensen tied for 41st place after a 5-over 77 left her at 224 for the event.
Freshman Vanessa Ha hit 16 greens in her final round en route to an even par 72, jumping her up 13 places on the leaderboard into a tie for 53rd place at 226 (+10).
Emelie Lundstrom was also part of the large pack at 226 after the junior finished the tournament with a 76.
The Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown brings an end to the Dons' fall schedule. USF will open its spring season at the 36-hole Peg Barnard Invitational, set for Feb. 14-15 at Stanford Golf Course.
