USF's women's tennis team will be in action three times this weekend starting with Friday's match against Pacific, which gets underway at 11:00 a.m. at the Olympic Club.
The Dons will wrap up their home schedule on Saturday with a match against Saint Mary's at the Olympic Club (4:30 p.m.) before wrapping up a busy weekend on Sunday afternoon with a road match at Cal (3:30 p.m.).
Saturday's match against Saint Mary's is Senior Day. Marina Nikolic and Milica Hadzi-Tanovic will be honored prior to playing in their final home match for the Dons.
Nikolic has been well-decorated in her four years at USF, earning first-team All-WCC doubles recognition with partner Andrea Ka and honorable mention singles honors as a junior. She also earned honorable mention singles recognition as a sophomore. This season, Nikolic has teamed with Ka to post a 13-8 record as the Dons top doubles team and was ranked 114th nationally by the ITA in singles competition.
Hadzi-Tanovic, a two-time WCC All-Academic selection, started her season on a high note by winning the White singles division at the Cal Invitational in September.
"Senior Day on Saturday will be great to see Marina and Milica put it all out there against St Mary's," said head coach Hllary Somers They are both tough competitors and really looking forward to their last home match as a Don. Milica exemplifies such toughness in pushing herself physically every day. Marina plays with so much heart and energy that is infectious. It has really been rewarding to watch them grow these past four years."
USF brings a 9-7 overall match and a 4-2 conference ledger into Friday's match with the Tigers, who are 8-8 overall and 2-1 in WCC play. The Dons defeated Pacific, 6-1 last season in Stockton.
The Dons face a Saint Mary's team on Saturday that is ranked 41st nationally in the latest ITA poll. The Gaels will bring a 10-7 overall record and a 4-1 conference mark into their match at Santa Clara on Friday.
USF's toughest test of the season comes on Sunday, when the Dons travel across the bay to face the third-ranked Golden Bears at the Hellman Tennis Center beginning at 3:30 p.m. The match will be the second of a doubleheader for the Bears, who will meet Pac-12 Washington State beginning at 11:30 p.m.
