SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Dons forced overtime with Amanda Whittle's goal in the 60^th minute, but it was Cal Poly's Megan Demijohn who netted the game winner in the 95^th minute that helped deal the USF women's soccer team a 2-1 loss on Friday night.
 
Demijohn was streaking up the middle of the pitch when she took a pass from Caitlin Kreutz near the endline and punched it past USF keeper Makayla Presgrave from eight yards out for the win.
 
Cal Poly (2-1) struck first with Kreutz's unassisted score in the 52^nd minute where she converted a rebound to help the Mustangs take a 1-0 lead.
 
Whittle netted the equalizer shortly thereafter on a long strike from 20 yards out that she tucked into the right corner for her team-leading 3^rd goal of the year. Whittle has now tallied a goal in each game this season, each of which have either tied or been game winners.
 
Both teams narrowly missed out on chances to put their teams ahead in the waning minutes of regulation. Kreutz had her shot bounce off the crossbar in the 82^nd minute, while Jessica Nakae led Miciah Madison with a beautiful pass in the 86^th minute that looked like it had setup Madison for a breakaway go-ahead score, but Cal Poly keeper Sophia Brown came out of the net to smother the ball before Madison could get a clean shot off.
 
USF (2-1) was only able to get two shots off in the first half as both sides jostled for momentum. However, the Mustangs came out in the second half and outshot the Dons 13-6.
 
Presgrave recorded nine saves in the contest, the most for a Don keeper since Madalyn Schiffel's 10 stops against Fresno State in 2012.
