Box Score THE RUNDOWN
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The University of San Francisco women's soccer team was on a hot streak offensively entering tonight's contest, coming off back-to-back game scoring three or more goals, and four-straight matches scoring two or more.  That streak came to an end tonight unfortunately, as host Santa Clara held the Dons scoreless en route to a 2-0 victory at Stevens Stadium – Buck Shaw Field.
                              
The Santa Clara's (11-6-1, 6-1 WCC) defense was stifling, holding USF (6-10-2, 2-5-0 WCC) to just five shots on the night with two on goal.  Maddy Glaser and Izzy Lueken provided the best looks at the net all evening. 
 
Keeper Olivia Camera and the Dons' defense did an admirable job keeping the conference's top scoring offense in check.  The Broncos finished the night with 16 shots, seven on goal.  Camera finished the night with five saves, including a very impressive stop in the 19^th minute, thwarting a one-on-one opportunity by the Broncos. 
 
SCU took the lead for good in the 26^th minute off the 10^th goal of the season by freshman Kelsey Turnbow.  Turnbow took a pass from Maddy Gonzalez in the corner of the box and beat Camera to the opposite post. 
 
It was Turnbow again with the insurance goal in the 58^th minute.  This time a cross pass by Gudron Arnardottir gave Turnbow an open look at the goal for her 11^th of the season.

"I thought the first half we were a little complacent and weren't at our best," said head coach Jim Millinder.  "In the second half, we came out a lot better and had some good chances, but that final touch or final pass to create a scoring opportunity just wasn't good enough.  We've got to be sharper in the final third.  I thought our kids battled in the second half, but Santa Clara is a good team and we weren't good enough in the first half with the possession of the ball and Santa Clara took advantage.  But I'm really pleased with how we played in the second half, we had some chances, put better pressure on the ball." 
 
STATS OF THE GAME

• The five shots by USF is the second lowest of the season.The Dons have been held to less than 10 shots just four times this year.The season low for shots came against Stanford, when USF was held to just three shots.
• With her five saves, Camera now has 112 on the year, which puts her tied for eighth most in the nation.
• Camera and Autumn Smithers were the only players who played the full 90 minutes tonight.The Dons emptied the bench with 19 players seeing action tonight, 16 playing 25 minutes or more.

The Dons will return home for the final weekend of the season.  On Thursday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. USF and BYU will make up the game that was postponed earlier in the year due to the wild fires in the North Bay.
