THE RUNDOWN
SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco women's basketball team was defeated by UC Davis, 55-72, on Wednesday evening. Coach Goodenbour's squad could not find a shooting rhythm in the contest and ultimately gave the Aggies their eighth win of the year to stay undefeated.
The first half of the game was all UCD as they outshot, outrebounded, and out assisted the visitors. The Aggies put together a 10-0 run in the first frame, holding the Dons scoreless for more than 3:00 minutes of play to take a 14-3 lead. They hit six three's to USF's zero, shot 44.1 percent from the field (15-for-34) and 100.0 percent from the line (4-for-4).
Entering the half, the undefeated Aggies had a 40-23 advantage on the Dons, who registered a 24.3 shooting percentage and 55.6 percentage from the line over the first two quarters of play.
USF's shooting woes continued through the second half. The 17-point edge the Aggies had over the Dons at the half, quickly grew as USF had no answer for UCD's offense and continued to struggle from the field.
The Aggies opened the fourth period with a seven-point streak, going ahead 62-41, and sealing the deal on the Dons night.
