SAN FRANCISCO — Santiago Digiuseppe and Sean Bowman from the Unviersity of San Francisco's men's soccer team, shined on Senior Night in their final match at Negoesco Stadium by a strong second half performance, dominating Santa Clara, 3-1.

San Francisco's seniors shined from open to close throughout the second half as three dominating goals came from USF's DiGiuseppe and Bowman. Santa Clara, however, attacked both sides of the ball and put constant pressure on the Dons as they were able to get a shot off right at the fourth minute mark to start the match. Santa Clara's Alan Soto shot the ball from deep as it hit the top of the post and bounced off right to Javier Ruiz Duran foot for the wide open goal. At the end of the first half it was Santa Clara who held the lead at 1-0.

The senior class led the Dons out of the locker room to start the second period with intense energy. At the 49th minute mark, Santiago Digiuseppe's craftiness penetrated past Santa Clara, as he got past multiple defenders to launch the ball right into the net to tie the match, 1-1. Digiuesppe recorded his fifth goal of the season.

San Francisco was able to keep the Broncos to two shot attempts in the span of 10 minutes. Later in the half, Ashish Chattha dished a pass to Bowman who created space and took on three defenders while speeding past them and beautifully executing a clean shot into the back end of the net. The senior put the Dons on top, 2-1.

At the 74th mark, Bowman continued to put on a show on Senior Night. After a free kick landed in the center amongst a cluster Dons and Bronco players, the ball landed right in front of Bowman and without hesitation he put the ball inside the net to extend the Dons lead, 3-1.

Santa Clara could not execute well enough after leading the Dons with 11 shots on goal. Ruben Stuiver caught 10 saves as the Bronco's keeper Henning Jolivet caught three. Seven different Dons recorded a shot or more: Chattha (3), DiGiuseppe (2), Bowman (2), Bar Twito (1), Zyan Andrade (1), Cameron Martin (1) and Tawwab Emiola. Santa Clara had nine different Broncos tally a shot attempt or more.
