SAN FRANCISCO – Fresh of a tournament championship at The Farms Invitational, the University of San Francisco men's golf team looks to ride the momentum into this week's tournament, the Prestige at PGA West, hosted by Stanford and UC Davis.
This is the 18th installment of the Prestige, and the 14th time it has been located at PGA West. The 2018 field includes four teams ranked among Golfweek's top-20: No. 1 Oklahoma State, No. 9 LSU, No. 13 Stanford and No. 14 USC.
Head golf coach Jack Kennedy is going with the same lineup that had amazing success last week in Tim Widing, Soren Lind, Toby Briggs, Alex Chin, and Henry Chung.
Four of the five Dons finished in the top-25 in last week's the Farm Invitational. With Lind and Widing both finishing in the top-10. Lind came in fourth in the tournament, firing a 1-under 215 for the tournament, his eagle on the par-5 18 closed out the tournament for the Dons.
Widing finished tied for seventh in the Farm Invitational, in the final 36 holes, Widing recorded three eagles and six birdies. In the second round he recorded the lowest round for the Dons, with a 4-under 68.
The Prestige begins on Monday with 18 holes at the Greg Norman designed PGA West, a par-71, 7,070-yard course. The Tournament will run through Wednesday with 18 holes played on Tuesday and Wednesday. Live stats are available at Golfstat.com
