Facing the Cougars: USF and BYU have shared the series, splitting their 24-game history 12-12. In recent years, BYU have had the Dons' number winning eight of the last nine contests between the two sides. Both teams are coming in off series losses in conference with BYU losing three of three against Saint Mary's, while USF won the first game of their three-game set against Pepperdine before losing the final two games of the series.
Battle for WCC playoff heats up: USF is currently tied for fourth in the WCC standings with Gonzaga, and a game-and-a-half behind leaders Pepperdine. This weekend will be USF's final conference series of the season and will have to wait until the final week of the year to see where they stand in conference. The Dons will take on non-conference Kansas State in the final weekend of the year.
Tuesday's switch: In their midweek game against Nevada, USF switched the lineup up a bit, providing starts for
Dominic Grissom and
Jason Kreske their second and third, respectively. Moving up in the order to second was
Jack Winkler, while
Riley Helland was moved to the clean-up spot.
