Matt Woods Named Director of Baseball Operations

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco baseball team and Head Coach Rob DiToma have officially announced the hiring of Matt Woods as the Director of Baseball Operations for the upcoming 2026 season.

"I am thrilled to promote Matt to the role of Director of Baseball Operations this year," DiToma said. "He was extremely valuable to our program last year as a student manager. He showed extreme dedication and work ethic, and I am happy to see him grow in this new role."

Woods enters his second full season on the Hilltop after serving as a student manager during the 2025 season. In his first season, Woods was part of a program that secured 26 wins, the most during the DiToma era, and earned a place in the West Coast Conference (WCC) Tournament for the first time since 2022.

Before his time with the program, Woods worked at Kinetic Performance Institute as a baseball trainer and coach.

Woods attended and played baseball at Whittier College from 2021 to 2023 and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He is currently enrolled in the Sport Management program at USF, pursuing his master's degree.
