Dons Wrap Up Three Game Homestand This Weekend

The University of San Francisco women's soccer team wraps up a three game homestand this weekend when the Dons host UC Santa Barbara on Friday night and New Mexico on Sunday.  The Dons and Gauchos kick off under the lights at 7:00 p.m., meanwhile Sunday's game is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start time.

WHATS THE STORY
• The Dons enter this weekend with a 3-1 overall record following the Dons 2-1 win over Harvard last Sunday.
• The Dons have scored seven goals in four games this season, Samantha Jehnings leads the team with four goals.
•  USF has opened up the year 3-1 for the first time since the 2013 season. 
 
TOMORROW'S GAME
The Gauchos enter tomorrow's contest with a 4-0 record after defeating Sacramento State and Illinois-Chicago last week at the UNLV Invitational.  Following those wins, UCSB jumped up to seventh in the United Soccer Coaches West Regional rankings.  Shaelan Murison was named the Big West Offensive Player last week, with Mallory Hromatko winning Defensive Player of the Week.   
 
SUNDAY'S GAME
On Sunday, the Dons and New Mexico will square off for the second year in a row.  The Lobos enter this weekend with a 2-1 overall record after beating Pacific 4-2 and Idaho State 5-0 last weekend.  Jessie Hix and Alesia Garcia lead the team with two goals apiece. 

UP NEXT
The Dons head to the Sooner state for a pair of contests next weekend starting with a match against Oklahoma on Friday, Sept. 7 at 5:00 p.m. PST.  They finish the weekend in Stillwater with an 11:00 a.m. PST game against Oklahoma State on Sunday, Sep. 9.
