WHATS THE STORY
• With the win on Saturday at Pacific, the Dons improved to 9-4-2 overall and are 2-1-1 in the WCC. With seven points, the Dons are currently tied with Gonzaga at fourth in the WCC. They trail Santa Clara by a point, Pepperdine by two, and BYU by three points.
Â
• The ninth win of the season marks just the fourth time since 2001 that the Dons have won nine or more games. With one more win, the Dons will have won 10 or more games for just the 10th time in program history. It will be the third time in head coach
Jim Millinder's eight years that the Dons will have eclipsed the 10-win plateau. Only former head coach Jean Paul Verhees (1991-'00) has more 10-win seasons with six.  Â
Â
• Last Time Out: The Dons needed extra time to get the result last Saturday. After trailing 1-0 at the half, the Dons outscored the Tigers 3-1 after the intermission to come away with the 3-2 win at Knoles Field.Â
Miciah Madison had the golden goal for the Dons, scoring with just 12 seconds before the end of the first overtime. Also scoring for the Dons was
Marie Marlow (62') and
Ashley Humphrey (83').     Â
Â
• Home/Road/Somewhere In Between: with the Dons' tie at Gonzaga last weekend, USF improved to 5-1-1 in true road games. In neutral site games they are 1-1-0, and at home this season, USF is 3-2-1. The Dons' 6-2-1 record away from Negoesco stadium is the second best under Millinder. USF's 7-2-1 mark in 2015 is the best away-record under the Dons' eighth year head coach.
Â
• Striking First: In Saturday's overtime win at Pacific, it marked just the fifth time this season an opponent scored first against the Dons. With the win, USF improves to 1-2-2. When the Dons score first they are 8-2-0 on the year.Â
Â
• Potent Offense: The Dons rank 27th in the nation in scoring offense and are 31st in the nation in total goals scored. The Dons have five players with at least four goals scored and are led by
Miciah Madison and
Samantha Jehnings team-leading eight goals each. The eight goals scored by the two senior forwards ranks 60th in the nation.
Â
• Shooters Shoot: USF ranks 11th in the nation in shooting accuracy. USF has taken 167 shots on the year with 94 on goal for a .563 shots on goal percentage. The Dons' duo of
Miciah Madison and
Samantha Jehnings rank 37th and 43rd respectively with a .615 and .600 shots on goal percentage.
Â
• Jehnings In Historic Company: Senior forward
Samantha Jehnings scored her 32nd career goal in the tie at Gonzaga last week. She is one shy of tying Kelli Bryant (1992-96) for second all-time. Jehings' goal was also her 11th career game-winning goal, with one more she ties Bryant for the USF record which is 12. Jehnings 32 career goals ranks 22nd in the nation in active goals.
