WHATS THE STORY
• With their 4-0 road win over Saint Mary's on Saturday, the Dons opened conference play 1-0 for the first time since 2015, when USF defeated then-No. 19 Santa Clara, 1-0, on the road.

• USF's 8-3-1 start is their best under head coach Jim Millinder. After falling to Northeastern, 2-1 in double overtime, on Sept. 15, USF has gone on a four-game unbeaten streak, including back-to-back wins over UC Davis and Saint Mary's.

• At home, USF is 3-1-1. They have been outscored by their opponents, 14-12. The Dons are averaging 2.4 goals per game and averaging 12.4 shots per game. Miciah Madison boasts a team-leading .538 shots-on-goal percentage (minimum 10 shots).

• In the Dons' conference opener, USF blasted the Gaels with four goals in the first seven minutes of the second half. The four first-half goals are the most scored by the Dons in a half all season. It is the second-most goals they've scored in a game this season, the best being the five scored in the win over UC Riverside on Sept. 5.

• For the second consecutive game, and fourth time this season, the Dons had a player score multiple goals in a contest. Freshman midfielder Keely Roy scored two goals in just over two minutes in the second half. Roy has four goals on the year. She joins Ashley Humphrey, Samantha Jehnings and Miciah Madison.

• Dynamic Duo: USF's senior forwards Miciah Madison and Samantha Jehnings both struck again. The lethal duo have combined to score 14 of the Dons' 27 goals. On Sunday in the win over Saint Mary's, Samantha Jehnings opened up the scoring taking a pass from Madison for her seventh of the year. Two minutes later, it was Madison's turn who scored on a pass from Keely Roy.

• Striking First: For the ninth time this season the Dons scored first, when USF is the first team to score they are 8-1.  Their lone loss came on the road in overtime at Northeastern.

• On the Attack:  Over the last three games the Dons have scored at least three goals. This season, USF is 6-0-1 when they score three or more. Their one tie came when they scored three unanswered to force a tie against Cal State Fullerton. For the season, USF is 41st in the nation in goals per game, averaging 2.25 goals per contest.

• Camera/Eby Shut out the Gaels: Though they don't get credit for it, the Dons duo in the net kept the Gaels off the scoreboard. USF has held their opponents scoreless five times this season, which matches the same number of scoreless games all last year when the Dons went 11-7-2.

• Shooters Shoot: USF ranks 17th in the nation in shot percentage. They've taken 131 shots on the year with 73 on goal for a .557 shots-on-goal percentage. USF makes it count, they are 228th in shots per game, averaging 10.92 per contest, but when they do shoot, they put it on goal.

• Jehnings In Historic Company:  Senior forward Samantha Jehnings recorded her 31st career goal in the Dons' win over Saint Mary's. She is two shy of tying Kelli Bryant (1992-96) for second all-time at USF. Jehnings' goal was also her 11th career game-winning goal. With one more she ties Bryant for the USF record of 12.

WEDNESDAY'S CONTEST
Loyola Marymount is one of four West Coast Conference schools to win their opening conference match last week. Last week, they defeated Pacific 3-1 in LA. They have now won two straight after starting the year 0-7-2. As a team, the Lions have scored 14 goals on the year, averaging 1.27 goals per game (192nd in the nation). Four players have scored two goals to lead the team. In goal, the Lions rely predominantly on redshirt junior Lee Erickson. In seven starts she has tallied 18 saves, but boasts a goal against average of 2.34.

SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday will mark the 27th time these two teams have played against each other. All-time the Lions own a 16-7-3 record against the Dons thanks to a 10-match win streak that lasted from 1998-2007. At Negoesco Stadium, the Dons are 4-8-1 against the Lions. The series dates back to Oct. 15, 1993, when USF defeated LMU, 1-0, in Los Angeles. Last season, USF ended a three-match losing streak at the hands of the Lions, defeating LMU, 1-0, on Oct. 7, 2018.  Over the last 10 matches, the Dons are 3-5-2 against LMU.
