WHATS THE STORY
• Last Time Out:  The Dons suffered a rare road defeat last Saturday when they fell to Portland at Merlo Field.  The Dons struck first but the game went into overtime when Portland got on the board early in the second half via an own goal.  In overtime, the Dons string of luck in OT ended when the Pilots scored in the 102nd minute. It was their fourth-straight overtime game for USF, the longest streak of overtime games in a row in program history.  During that stretch, the Dons went 2-1-1.

• Following the Dons 2-1 win in overtime over San Diego last Wednesday, USF secured their 10th win - it is just the 10th time in program history that the Dons have won 10 or more games in a season.  Under head coach Jim Millinder the Dons have done it three times.  It is the first time USF has won 10 or more games in back-to-back seasons since 1992-'97 when the Dons did it six times in a row.

• Shots Fired: In the win over the Toreros the Dons took 22 shots with 14 on goal.  The 14 shots on goal was a season-high.  USF has only amassed 20 or more shots twice this season, the other time came in the tie at Cal State Fullerton when the Dons took 23 shots.

• One-Goal Games: Saturday's 2-1 loss was USF's ninth game of the season featuring a goal differential of one. In those contests, USF is 6-3 on the year in one goal games.

• Home/Road/Somewhere In Between: Following the loss at Portland last Saturday, USF fell to 5-2-1 in true road games. In neutral site games they are 1-1-0, and at home this season, USF is 4-2-1.  The Dons' 6-3-1 record away from Negoesco stadium is the second best under Millinder. USF's 7-2-1 mark in 2015 is the best away-record under the Dons' eighth year head coach.

• Striking First: Last Saturday the Dons scored first for the 11th time this season; it marked just the third time they came away with the loss. USF is 8-3 when scoring first and 1-2-2 when their opponent scores first.

• In the Net:  Senior keeper Olivia Camera is having a career-year.  Her 10 wins is a career-best, she is 79th in the nation in total saves with 73, which is second in the WCC. For her career, Camera now has 252 saves – she is one of four players in USF history with 200 career saves.

Potent Offense: The Dons rank 37th in the nation in scoring offense and are 36th in the nation in total goals scored.  The Dons have five players with at least four goals scored. Seniors Samantha Jehnings and Miciah Madison

• Shooters Shoot: USF ranks 16th in the nation in shooting accuracy. USF has taken 205 shots on the year with 114 on goal for a .556 shots on goal percentage.  The Dons' duo of Miciah Madison and Samantha Jehnings rank 19th and 59th respectively with a .638 and .575 shots on goal percentage.

• Jehnings In Historic Company:  Senior forward Samantha Jehnings scored her 33rd career goal in the win over San Diego. She is now second all-time in USF history. Jehnings's 33 career goals ranks 22nd in the nation in active goals.

• In the annual preseason coaches' poll, the Dons were picked to finish sixth with 43 points, BYU and Santa Clara were picked in a tie at first with 77 points each. Senior forward Miciah Madison was picked to the WCC Preseason All-WCC Team, she is the first Don on the preseason list since 2016 when USF's Jessica Nakae and Ali Shaffer were named to the preseason team.

SATURDAY'S CONTEST
The Cougars are ranked No. 4 in both Top Drawer and United Soccer Coaches polls.  BYU enters this week with a 15-0-1 record, their lone tie came on the road at Santa Clara on Oct. 5, and since then they have won five-straight.  As a team, BYU averages 3.44 goals per game and 20.3 shots per contest, both of which lead the WCC. They have scored 55 goals on the year and have allowed just seven.  Leading the team in scoring is Elise Flake who has 33 points on the season and 15 goals.  In the net for BYU is senior Sabrina Davis who boasts a conference leading 0.50 goals against average.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday will be the 10th time the Dons and Cougars have squared off.  All-time BYU owns a 7-2-0 advantage in the series.  At Negoesco, the series is tied 2-2, with USF taking the last two home contests against BYU in 2017 and 2015. The series dates back to Sep. 30, 2006 with the Cougars defeating USF 1-0 in Provo, Utah.  The last time out, the Dons fell to BYU in Provo 4-0 on Oct. 25, 2018.
