MBB | Dons Host Hampton in Tuesday Matinee

The University of San Francisco men's basketball team wraps up a season-long three game homestand on Tuesday when the Dons host the Hampton Pirates at Noon. The Dons (6-0) are looking to go 7-0 for the second-straight season.  Tuesday's game will be streamed live on the WCC Network and will feature live stats.  As always, fans can tune in to Pat Olson and Jim Brovelli who will broadcast the game live courtside on the official home of USF Dons Basketball, KNBR 1050-AM.

USF AT A GLANCE
•  USF is 6-0 and as of Nov. 25 is one of 43 remaining undefeated teams.  The Dons are coming off a 90-81 win over Sam Houston State on Saturday.  The Dons are 5-0 at home this season where they average 91.4 points per game while allowing just 70.4
 
• Scoring Abundance:  The Dons enter Tuesday's game against Hampton ranked seventh in the nation in scoring - averaging 88.8 points per game, they lead the WCC. USF has scored 80 or more in five of the six contests this year. The Dons are 26th in the nation in scoring margin at +20.2. 
 
• Wire-to-Wire: In the last three contests and four times overall, this year USF has led wire-to-wire.  For the season, USF has led in all but 33 of the 250 minutes played.
 
• From Beyond the Arc:  The Dons - who set a USF single-game record for made 3-point field goals in the win over CSU Bakersfield going 19-for-25, is fifth in the nation in 3-point fg per game averaging 11.7 per contest.  The Dons rank sixth in the nation in total field goals made with 76 and are 12th in the nation in 3-point field goals attempted at 187.  The Dons are 55th in the nation in 3-poit field goal percentage at .374 percent.
 
• Historically Rare Company: The #GoldenEra is off to a fantastic start. First Year head coach Todd Golden's 6-0 start is second only to William Bussenius won his first seven games in 1945-46 - in his only season as head coach - most of those wins came against local military opponents following World War II.
 
THE SERIES
Tuesday will be the second time the Dons and Pirates have squared off. USF is 1-0 all-time against Hampton.
 
ABOUT THE PIRATES
Tuesday is the first of two games in California for the Pirates who are from Hampton, Virginia.  The members of the Big South conference are 3-2 on the year and are coming off a 120-71 loss at the hands of Illinois on Nov. 23.  As a team, the Pirates are averaging 87.2 points per game and shooting .464 percent from the field.  Three players are averaging better than 10 points per game and are led by Jermain Marrow 26 points per game.  Defensively, the Pirates allow 72.6 points per game, their opponents are shooting .397 from the field and .314 from 3-point range. On the road this year, Hampton is 0-2. The Pirates were picked to finish fourth in the Big South preseason poll.  Radford was selected as the favorite to win the conference.
 
LAST TIME OUT VERSUS HAMPTON
The last time the Dons played Hampton came on Dec. 30, 2010 when the Dons hosted the Pirates in part of the 2010 Hilltop Challenge.  The Dons came away with a 69-57 win over the Pirates who entered that game with a 10-2 record.  USF was led by Michael Williams game-high 26 points.  Angelo Caloiaro finished with a game-high 14 rebounds.  USF led 33-32 at the half and outscored the Pirates 36-25 after the intermission.
