WHATS THE STORY
• Last Time Out:  On Saturday night the Dons suffered a heartbreaking double overtime defeat at the hands of No. 4 BYU, 2-1.  USF got a goal late in regulation by Ashley Humphrey which send the game into overtime, USF's fifth consecutive game in OT.  After having their chances in the first OT against BYU, the Dons couldn't stop the Cougars in the second overtime period, giving up the golden goal in the 102nd minute.

• RPI Watch: Even after falling to the Cougars on Saturday night, the Dons' RPI went up.  USF enters Wednesday night's contest with an RPI of 56, very much in the hunt for an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament.

• Elite Trio:  Humphrey's goal in the 80th minute was her seventh of the year.  Aside from being a new career-high mark for Humphrey, it gives the Dons three players with seven or more goals on the year: Humphrey joins Samantha Jehnings (nine goals) and Miciah Madison (eight goals).  The last time that happened was in 1994 when Jannik Abel (13 goals), Kelli Bryant (13 goals), and Erin Killough (seven goals) accomplished the feat.

• One Goal Games: Saturday's 2-1 loss was USF's 10th game of the season featuring a goal differential of one. USF is 6-4 on the year in such contests.

• Home/Road/Somewhere In Between: Following the loss to No. 4 BYU last Saturday, USF fell to 4-3-1 at Negoesco Stadium. When the Dons aren't home this year they boast a 6-3-1 record on the road, it is the second best road mark under Millinder. USF's 7-2-1 mark in 2015 is the best away-record under the Dons' eighth year head coach.

• In the Net:  Senior keeper Olivia Camera had a huge game last Saturday night in net for the Dons. She finished the game with nine saves against the Cougars. It was her seventh game this season recording five or more assists.

WEDNESDAY'S CONTEST
Pepperdine enters Wednesday night's game riding a two-game win streak after defeating San Diego 1-0 in overtime on the road.  The Waves outshot the Toreros 32-4 in that contest and have now outshot their opponents 62-8 over the last two games. The third place Waves, are currently 46th in the latest RPI.  Five players have scored three goals for the Waves this season, one of those players, Devyn Gilfoy was named the WCC Player of the Week.

SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday will be the 27th time these two teams have faced each other with the Waves owning a 14-10-2 advantage in the series.  At home, the Dons are 8-6 all-time against Pepperdine. The series dates back to Oct. 23, 1993 when the Dons defeated Pepperdine 3-0 in Malibu.  Recent history has belonged to Pepperdine how has gone 3-1-1 against the Dons over the last five contests.  Last time out, USF earned 1-1 draw in Malibu on Oct. 5, 2018.
