USF AT A GLANCE
LAST TIME OUT
The Dons got back into the win column with a convincing 73-56 win over Saint Mary's at McKeon Pavilion in which the Dons led wire-to-wire.  The 17 point win was the largest over a conference opponent since the Dons defeated Santa Clara at home by the same amount on February 13, 2018.

TOP FROSH
For the third week in a row and fifth time this season, Ioanna Krimili was named the UCU WCC Freshman of the Week. For the week, she averaged 15.0 points per game while shooting 37.8 percent from the field.  She also averaged 5.3 rebounds per game.

SHE'S ON FIRE
Senior forward Lucie Hoskova is absolutely on fire right now. Last week, she finished with 57 points, averaging 19.7 points per game. She also shot 55.6 percent from the field and averaged 6.7 rebounds per game.  Over the last two games of the week, she scored 22 and 32 points respectively. In the win over Saint Mary's, she finished with a career-high 32 points going 14-for-18 from the field with six rebounds.  She became the first player in five years to eclipse the 30 point plateau for the Dons.

DONS FROM DISTANCE
The Dons snapped a cold streak from beyond the arc going 6-for-15 from long distance. The previous four contests, the Dons were averaging just 3.75 made threes per game while shooting 16.0 percent from the field.  Even after the cold spell, USF still ranks 40th in the nation and tops in the WCC with 77 made 3-point field goals and ranks 96th in the nation in 3-point field goals per game at 7.0.

GOODENBOUR GETS #300
Fifth year head coach Molly Goodenbour earned her 300th win at all levels with the win over Saint Mary's last Saturday.  The Dons' fifth year head coach has 231 career wins at the NCAA Division I and II levels and 69 wins at the junior college level.

A WIN WOULD MEAN...
• The Dons would improve snap a two-game losing streak at the hands of the Pilots.
• Improve the Dons to 3-1 at home this year.
• Improve USF to 37-35 all-time against the Pilots and 20-14 at home.
• Improve the Dons to 6-6 on the year and 2-4 in the WCC.

THE SERIES
Thursday is the 72nd time the Pilots and Dons have met.  All-time USF owns a 36-35 advantage in the series that dates back to the 1987-88 season.  On the Hilltop the Dons are 19-14 against the Pilots.  Last year Portland took both contests, the first season sweep for the Pilots since the 2011-12 season. Last timeout, the Pilots defeated the Dons 69-49 on Feb. 15, 2020 at the Chiles Center.

SCOUTING REPORT: PORTLAND PILOTS
The Pilots enter this week with a 6-4 record and are 3-1 in the West Coast Conference.  The 3-1 start in WCC play is the best start through four games since the 1996-97 season.  In their win over the Gaels last week, Portland dished out a program record 28 assists. As a team, the Pilots are averaging 68.6 points per game and shooting 43.5 percent from the field.  Their opponents are averaging 69.0 points per game and shooting 46.0 percent from the field. Junior guard Haylee Andrews was named the WCC Player of the Week last week after averaging 22.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in wins on the road over Pepperdine and LMU. Andrews and Alex Fowler lead the Pilots in scoring with 13.2 points and 15.7 points per game respectively.

NEXT UP
Next up the Dons will take on the Gonzaga Bulldogs on Saturday.  The game is part of a double-header with the men taking on BYU later that day. The Dons and Bulldogs will tip off at noon and will be streamed on the WCC Network with George Devine calling the action live from War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.
