SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Returning to the pitch for their first action since Sept. 22, the University of San Francisco men's soccer team (1-6, 0-0) will begin West Coast Conference play when they make the short trip to No. 22 Santa Clara (6-1-1) to face the Broncos on Saturday night.

DONS AT A GLANCE:
- In their last outing on the pitch, USF fell to UC Davis, 4-1, in their final nonconference match of the season on Wednesday, Sept. 22. Despite the loss, goalkeeper Brandon notched a career-high seven saves against the Aggies in his first start of the 2021 season.
- Aiming to build on his impressive freshman campaign, Nonso Adimabua currently ranks tied for fourth in the WCC with three goals while also sitting solely in fourth place with 22 total shots on the year. Notably, his nine shots on goal also rank fifth in the conference.
- On Saturday, the Dons will be playing in their final road game of a seven-match stretch away from home as they set to return to Negoesco Stadium next Saturday, Oct. 9 when they host Saint Mary's at 7:00 pm.
SCOUTING THE BRONCOS:
- Dating back to the shortened spring season, Santa Clara has won nine of their last eleven matches. Last time out, the Broncos ended in a 1-1 draw with Cal State Fullerton on Friday, Sept. 24. Prior to this outing, SCU was on a three-game win streak having recorded victories over UC San Diego, Houston Baptist and Dixie State.
- Entering this week, the Broncos check in at No. 25 in the latest NCAA Division I Men's Soccer rankings, with their lone loss of the year coming at then No. 2 Georgetown.
- Indidivually, forward Oladayo Thomas currently leads the WCC in goals (5), points (13) and shots (30) while also tying for the league lead in assists (3). In the cage, goalkeeper Andreu Cases Mundet has given up only three goals in 713 minutes of action as he leads the conference in goals against average (0.38).

- Dating back to 1967, San Francisco currently holds a 37-27-10 all-time advantage over Santa Clara. Notably, the Dons are 6-3-1 against the Broncos in their last 10 matchups, which included a 2-0 shutout victory at Negoesco Stadium in their last matchup on Mar. 7, 2021.
