SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Closing out their home stand with another dominant victory, the University of San Francisco men's basketball team (6-0) extended their winning streak to six consecutive games by taking down Morgan State (2-4), 83-67, on Monday night at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Picking up right where he left off, the Dons got off to an early 5-0 start following five straight points from Jamaree Bouyea to begin the ballgame, which included a deep three from the wing as the shot clock expired.
- Morgan State would respond and trim their deficit, but USF kept their foot on the gas following back-to-back threes from Julian Rishwain at 13:09 and 12:40 to remain on top, 18-12.
- As the half played on, the two teams continued to trade baskets, with the Dons never relinquishing their lead through the first twenty minutes of action. After Bouyea would convert a three-point play to close out the first half, USF led by double digits at the break, 40-30.
- Out of the locker room, Bouyea poured it on again, this time pushing the Dons advantage to seventeen, 49-32, following another triple at the 17:00 mark.
- Answering this run, the Bears then rallied off an 11-0 stretch of their own to come with just six points, 49-43. Shortly thereafter, four straight free throws from Rishwain and a fast break dunk from Yauhen Massalski put USF back on top by twelve, 55-43.
- Hitting their grove as the half transpired, the Dons extended their lead to as many as 26, 78-52, following a three-pointer from Josh Kunen at 6:07. In the closing minutes, the Bears would not go down without a fight, but the Dons ultimately held on to secure their sixth straight win to begin the season, 83-67.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Serving as a spark plug off the bench, Rishwain was tabbed the Player of the Game after finishing with a season-high 18 points on 4-of-5 from beyond-the-arc. Notably, the 6'5" guard also knocked down 4-of-5 from the free throw line while grabbing three rebounds and dishing out one assist.
- Delivering once again, Bouyea tallied a game-high 22 points on 8-of-11 from the floor and 3-of-5 from distance. Additionally, the Seaside native finished a perfect 3-3 from the charity stripe while also adding 7 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Notably, Monday marked Bouyea's twelfth straight contest scoring in double figures and his thirteenth career 20+ point performance as a Don.
- Contributing in the backcourt, Khalil Shabazz logged his fourth game in double digits with 11 points, one rebound and one assist in 26 minutes played on Monday night.
- As a team, USF shot an impressive 50.0 percent overall from the field (29-58) while limiting Morgan State to just 39.4 percent (26-66). Collectively, the Dons led the Bears in fast break points (22-13), bench points (37-34) and second chance points (8-7).

USF will travel to a familiar sight for their first road trip of the year as the Dons are set to play in the Las Vegas Invitational, an annual tournament located at the Orleans Arena, on Thursday, Nov. 25 and Friday, Nov. 26. Following their matchup with Towson on Thursday, the Dons will face either the winner or loser of UAB and New Mexico, pending the outcome of their contest with the Tigers.
