USF Falls in Road Trip Finale to Cal State Fullerton

FULLERTON, Calif. -- The University of San Francisco's women's basketball team (5-5) came up short in their road trip finale Tuesday night as they fell to the Cal State Fullerton Titans (5-3) 62-53 at Titan Gym.

After a slow start, the Dons offense picked up in the second half as they were able to reduce their deficit to six at various times during the final 20 minutes of play.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
  • The Dons offense got off to a slow start in the first half as they were only able to manage 10 points in the first quarter and nine in the second as they trailed at the break.
  • USF was able to get more shots to fall in the third quarter as their offense showed signs of progress as they scored 34 points across the final two quarters to reduce their deficit to single digits.
  • Following Tuesday night's game the Dons are now more than halfway through their December road stand as they will travel to Colorado, Tulsa and Gonzaga later this month.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
  • Ioanna Krimili led the way for USF as she scored 19 points on 7-for-15 shooting and going 4-of-7 from three-point land, while also collecting six rebounds and two assists.
  • Lucija Kostic had a strong impact on the game as she grabbed 11 rebounds, dished six assists and came up with three steals while also scoring seven points in an all-around effort against the Titans.
UP NEXT:
The Dons will now 12 days away from game action prior to getting back on the road for a meeting with the Colorado Buffaloes (8-0) on Dec. 20 in Boulder. CU is off to an undefeated start to their season as they've posted wins against Oklahoma State, Marquette and Wisconsin non-conference play. The Buffaloes will be the fourth and final Pac-12 team the Dons will play in the regular season as they've gone 1-2 after their most recent win over USC.
