ABOUT THE DONS
San Francisco (5-14, 1-2 WCC) tied the game twice Sunday and came from behind to take a lead against Pepperdine, but the Waves edged the Dons for the series victory. The offense averaged 5.7 runs per game, but the pitching staff walked 28 batters and gave up 32 runs in three games over the weekend.

The Dons have played in close game after close game this season. More than half (10) of USF's 19 games have been decided by only one or two runs. Nine of the Dons' games have been decided in the seventh inning or later (2-7 record in those contests).

ABOUT BYU
The Cougars (7-11, 3-0 WCC) swept their opening WCC series last weekend at Loyola Marymount and have won four in a row after a non-conference win over Utah Valley on Tuesday. BYU started the season just 3-11 and had lost nine of its last 10 before its current winning streak. Tuesday's win over Utah Valley was the Cougars' first home game of the year.

Mitch McIntyre has started every game for the Cougars and leads the team with a .329 batting average. Cole Gambill leads BYU in home runs (3) and RBIs (14), though he's batting just .161. Easton Walker has been one of the Cougars' top pitching arms with a team-best 0.70 ERA and 23 strikeouts in four starts. Reid McLaughlin is carrying a 1.84 ERA and better-than 3-to-1 strikeouts-to-walks ratio in eight relief appearances.

COMING UP
The Dons return to San Francisco next week for another three-game WCC series, hosting Loyola Marymount starting April 1. Fans can find all live coverage links on USFDons.com.
