DONS AT A GLANCE:
- The Dons are back in action for two matches this week after playing just twice in the last two weeks. USF is looking to right the ship after consecutive defeats from WCC opponents Santa Clara and Gonzaga.
- Looking to return to their winning ways, the Dons will need their leading goal scorers of Marissa Vasquez, Lindsey Chau and Kaylin Lunsford to find more scoring opportunities as USF has been out shot 34-12 across the previous two matches.
- In goal for the Dons, Megan Nail continues to be among the conference leaders in saves as her 46 total saves has her tied for second in the WCC in that category.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS:
- BYU enters Wednesday night's match with a 4-2-4 overall record as there season has featured numerous ups and downs for a program that entered the season ranked as the number three team in the nation according to the coaches poll.
- Junior forward Brecken Monzingo has been a prolific goal scorer this season for the Cougars, as she is currently tied with Vasquez for second in the WCC with six goals scored this season. To go along with her six goals, Monzingo has also done a nice job of setting up her teammates with six assists as well.
- In goal for the Cougars, sophomore Savanna Mason has started in all nine of BYU's matches this season as she's allowed 12 total goals while coming up with 19 saves as well.
SCOUTING THE BRONCOS:
- USF will look to get even with Santa Clara after dropping the team's earlier matchup in the South Bay two weeks ago that the Broncos won 4-0. The Dons were able to defeat the then reigning National Champions last season on the Hilltop as they came away with the 2-0 victory at Negoesco Stadium.
- The Dons will need to find a way to limit the conference's leading goal scorer, senior midfielder Izzy D'Aquila who found the back of the net four times against USF and has scored 11 goals for Santa Clara this season.
- Redshirt junior Marlee Nichols has been used in goal for the majority of the Broncos season making seven starts, including against USF back in the South Bay where she recorded a clean sheet.

- BYU holds a 10-2 record in the recent history between both sides, including winning 3-1 last season on the Hilltop. The Dons' last win over the Cougars came during the 2017 season when they won 2-1 at Negoesco Stadium back in 2017.
- Santa Clara leads the all-time series between the two programs with a 37-2-1 overall record, but the Dons were able to hand the reigning National Champions their first loss last season in a 2-0 victory on the Hilltop.
