DONS AT A GLANCE:
- Sunday's series finale victory over the Lions was thanks in large part to the offensive explosion of outfielder Nick Yovetich, who went 4-for-5 with a stolen base and a career-high six RBI in Los Angeles to get the Dons back in the win column.
- The Dons have found creative ways to score runs all season as they currently lead the West Coast Conference as a team in both home runs and stolen bases.
- USF's offense was on full display during the first meeting between the two teams as Mario DeMera and Gabe Giosso each drove in a pair of runs while Kyle Knell hit his first home run of the season in USF's 10-9 walk-off win at Benedetti Diamond on Mar. 9.
- Weston Lombard will be making his eighth start of the season on Tuesday evening as he has recently pitched in a relief role over the last month for the Dons. Toeing the slab in the series finale against LMU, Lombard recorded a pair of outs and struck out one Lion while not allowing a run.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS:
- Fresno State enters Tuesday's game with a .500 record as they recently dropped two of three to Air Force over the weekend in Colorado. Heading into Tuesday, the Bulldogs currently find themselves with the third best conference record in the Mountain West at 10-8.
- Fresno State has also proven to be dangerous with the bats as they currently hold a team batting average of .293. Individually, the Bulldogs are led by redshirt junior catcher Zach Morgan, who has posted a eye-popping .399 batting average along with 19 doubles and 28 RBI this season.
- On the mound, the Bulldogs will be turning to left-hander Jake Dixon as he will be making his eleventh start and twelfth total appearance for Fresno State this season. This season, Dixon has compiled a 4.32 ERA in 58 1/3 innings pitched with opponents hitting .274 against him.
- The Dons and Bulldogs have played four of the same opponents so far this season as Fresno State fell to San Diego, took two of three against Portland and Nevada as well as coming away with a lopsided victory over Sacramento State on their home field.
