SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Following an impressive two match road sweep last week, the USF Dons women's soccer team (5-1-3) is back to work Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. as they will wrap up "non-conference play" as they take on fellow WCC and Bay Area foe the Santa Clara Broncos (2-5-1) from Stevens Stadium.
Thursday will mark the first of two matches the rival programs will play this season, with the rematch from Negoesco Stadium counting as a conference match. The Dons' stellar start to the 2022 season has started to receive national recognition as USF received three votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll for the first time this season, and the first time since the 2015 season.

DONS AT A GLANCE:
- The road warrior Dons look to remain unbeaten as they will play their sixth match away from Negoesco Stadium so far this season as USF has picked up four of their five wins this season away from the Hilltop.
- USF's offense was in full force on the road as they were able to score four goals in their route over UC San Diego, and followed that performance up by recording a season-high 31 shots in their 2-1 victory over Cal State Fullerton. The 31 shots the Dons put up against the Titans was eight more than #1 UCLA was able to attempt in an early matchup with Fullerton this season.
- Junior Jamesen Ward was able to deliver the knockout blow in the team's win over the Titans by scoring a goal off a penalty kick late in the match. Ward became the ninth different USF player to score a goal this season as she joined Marissa Vasquez, Lindsey Chau, Kaylin Lunsford, Alex Carpio, Allison Kamansky, Ana Gorlach, Ashley Jordan and Kaya Pigoni as the Dons offense has been a pleasant development for the team.
SCOUTING THE BRONCOS:
- It's been a slow non-conference start to the season for the Broncos who entered the season ranked as #5 overall in the nation but have been on the wrong side of close results against quality opponents. Mutual opponents the Dons and Broncos have faced include UC Davis, Oregon, California and Stanford.
- Leading the way for the Broncos in the offensive attack has been senior midfielder Izzy D'Aquila who leads her squad with 10 total points to go along with four goals and a pair of assists this season.
- The Broncos have utilized three student-athletes in goal so far this season with junior Kylie Foutch playing the most time in goal as she's recorded seven saves while allowing four goals in 2022. Goalkeeping hasn't been a strong point for Santa Clara this season as the Broncos rank near the bottom of the conference with a .548 team save percentage.
