SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- With the non-conference portion of the schedule in the rear view mirror, the USF Dons women's soccer team (5-2-3) are back home for the first time since mid-September as they welcome the Gonzaga Bulldogs (5-2-2) to Negoesco Stadium at 7:00 p.m. Saturday night.
Saturday night's match marks the first West Coast Conference game for the Dons during the 2022 season as they had a very productive non-conference season losing just twice through their first 10 matches and posting a 4-1-1 record away from the Hilltop. USF's return to their home pitch will be the first match at Negoesco Stadium since USF played three home matches in a row against Cal, Baylor and SMU.
Led by prolific goal scorer
Marissa Vasquez and stalwart goalkeeper
Megan Nail, the Dons will look to make an early statement in conference play against a quality opponent on their home field.

DONS AT A GLANCE:
- USF returns home fresh off a three-match road trip that saw the team go 2-1 including a pair of impressive victories over both UC San Diego and Cal State Fullerton as the Dons were able to impose their will on their opponents in securing both victories.
- A key piece to the Dons' non-conference success is an impressive freshman class headlined by the stellar play from forward Lindsey Chau and midfielder Alex Carpio. Both student-athletes have forced their way into the team's starting lineup due to their impressive and aggressive play.
- As a team, the Dons are among the top half of WCC teams in shots per game as they currently rank fourth with 15 shots per game while also coming in fifth place in shot percentage.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS:
- Gonzaga enters Saturday night's match with a strong 5-2-2 overall record this season as they've played one mutual opponent the Dons have this season having played Oregon. The Bulldogs were able to tie the Ducks which was the same result the Dons received up in Eugene back in August.
- Leading the way for the Bulldogs' offensive attack has been the combination of forwards Erin Healy and Giana Riley, who have each scored four goals this season to lead the way for Gonzaga.
- On the defensive end, senior goalkeeper Lyza Bosselmann has been impressive for Gonzaga as she's played in every minute of all 10 the Bulldogs' matches this season recording 26 saves and posting a 0.765 save percentage.
SERIES HISTORY:
- The Dons lead the overall history between the two programs as USF's overall record against Gonzaga is 18-9-2 despite the Bulldogs winning last season's battle 2-0 in Spokane. During the spring 2021 season, the Dons came away with the 3-0 victory the last time both teams competed on the Hilltop.
