SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Coming off of an impressive win on the road last Saturday, the San Francisco Dons women's basketball team (14-7, 4-5) prepares to take on the Santa Clara Broncos (13-9, 4-5) for the second time in conference play on Saturday, Jan. 28 from War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.
Saturday's game is the beginning of a stretch of three home games for the Dons. USF is seeking their fourth straight win against the Broncos overall, as they will look to put together another strong team scoring effort as Ioanna Krimili, Jasmine Gayles, Kennedy Dickie and Jessica McDowell-White each scored in double figures against San Diego.

DONS AT A GLANCE:
- In their last game on the road the Dons were able to secure a win against USD with efforts from Krimili who led the scoring for the night with 18 points followed by Jasmine Gayles pouring in 15 points off the bench.
- USF knocked off the Broncos in the South Bay on New Year's Eve in a thrilling 80-79 victory as Loren Christie came up huge for the Dons scoring 14 points and grabbing seven rebounds including knocking down a key baseline jumper to force overtime as USF ended 2022 on a high note.
- The Dons are currently ranked third in the WCC in scoring average with 71.33 points per game. Leading those numbers is Krimili who has become the fourth player at USF to reach over 250 three point shots as now has 253 made threes on her career.
- Still leading the conference in total rebounds per game with 39.5, the Dons look to continue dominating this area on the court. Individually, USF has two players, Kennedy Dickie and Debora dos Santos, both in the top five in the WCC for rebounds per game each averaging 7.3 rebounds per game.
SCOUTING THE BRONCOS:
- The Broncos are currently on a three game winning streak in the midst of coming back from losing four games in a row starting with the Dons in their last matchup. They have a 4-5 conference record on the season leaving them tied for fourth in the conference and are averaging 72.1 points per game.
- The high scorer for Santa Clara this season is freshman Tess Heal who leads the team with an average of 16.0 points per game. In their most recent game Lara Edmanson helped carry them to victory against BYU by scoring a high of 15 points.
- In the first meeting between the schools in Santa Clara, Heal scored 22 points on 8-for-17 shooting from the field while Ashley Hiraki contributed 12 points of her own as she knocked down a trio of three-point shots.
- Defensively, sophomore Olivia Pollerd has been working to keep their team ahead on the scoreboard as she averages 1.3 blocks per game to contribute to a total of 23 this season.
SERIES HISTORY:
- The last game between the two programs was played on December 31, 2022 as the Dons won on the road 80-79 and dos Santos scored a game-high 24 points in the win. The Dons have won the last three games against the Broncos dating back on January 17, 2022.
- All time Santa Clara leads the series between the two 25-15.
