DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • In their last time out on the pitch, the Dons shutout Saint Mary's in a 3-0 win last Saturday night at Negoesco Stadium. Marissa Vasquez recorded her first brace of the season and the third of her career with two goals in the 19th and 42nd minutes of the match, with her performance earning her WCC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
  • San Francisco is heading into Spokane on a two-game win streak as the green and gold shut out both No. 13 Santa Clara, 3-0, and Saint Mary's in a two-game home stand. Overall, the Dons have bounced back following a slow start to the year as USF is 4-1 over their last five games.
  • A victory on Saturday would give San Francisco its first three-game win streak since 2019, when the Dons followed a season-opening loss with four victories in a row.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS:
  • Gonzaga's returns to Spokane after a Wednesday night victory at Portland, where defender Grace Courter scored the game-winning goal in the 80th minute to defeat the Pilots, 2-1.
  • The Bulldogs are also heading into Saturday's matchup on a two-game win streak, along with a 2-0 conference record, tied for the best in the WCC, and the second-best overall record in the conference (9-2-1).
  • Offensively, Gonzaga sits atop the conference in total goals so far this season with 41, which is also good for third-most in the nation.
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Dating back to 1993, San Francisco holds a lead over Gonzaga in the head-to-head series with a record of 18-10-2 against the Bulldogs. The Dons are looking for their first win over GU since Mar. 16, 2021, when the green and gold shutout the Zags, 3-0, at Negoesco Stadium. Overall, San Francisco is also seeking its first victory in Spokane since Oct. 17, 2015.
