SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Hosting their annual senior night ceremony prior to the match, the University of San Francisco women's soccer team (6-8-3, 3-3-1 WCC) fell to Pepperdine (9-3-5, 6-1-0 WCC), 4-0, on Wednesday night at Negoesco Stadium.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
  • Opening the contest with two shots off the bat, Jackie Koerwitz barely missed the back of the net just 1:06 into the game as she hit the post with her first attempt of the night. Shortly thereafter, Marissa Vasquez fired a shot of her own at the 4:30 mark, but was ultimately denied by the Pepperdine goalkeeper.
  • As the half continued, Gabby Rizzo registered a shot of her in the 26th minute, but Pepperdine got on the board first following a goal from WCC scoring leader Tori Waldeck at 34:04.
  • Holding this advantage at the break, the Waves remained in front, 1-0, after the first 45 minutes of play
  • Moving into the second half, Waldeck notched her second goal of the night at 47:23 to double the Pepperdine lead to 2-0.
  • Following a foul in the box in the 80th minute, Kelsey Adams extended the advantage to 3-0 for the Waves on a penalty kick goal at 79:50. Less than two minutes later, Krya Murphy tallied her first goal of the season to put Pepperdine on top, 4-0.
  • Hanging on for the final ten minutes of action, the Waves went to pick up their sixth conference victory of the season by taking down the Dons, 4-0.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
  • Playing 84 minutes in possibly her last match on the Hilltop, Vasquez tallied at least two shots for the sixth straight game on Wednesday night.
  • Being honored on their special night, Ana Gorlach and Samantha Reyes each received their first starts of the season against Pepperdine.
  • Overall, 22 different Dons saw time on the pitch on Wednesday, including Kaya Pigoni and Kira Ybarra playing a full 90 minutes for the green and gold.
