SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The University of San Francisco volleyball team (10-17, 4-11) battled against Santa Clara (12-15, 4-11) but ultimately fell 3-2 Thursday night at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: 

• Santa Clara pulled ahead early in the first set until the Dons evened it at 13 with kills from Hayden Goodman, Astrid Puig, and Crystal Galaviz. The Broncos came back and secured the set 25-22.
• Quickly tying the frame at eight early in the second set, San Francisco went on a 9-2 scoring run to take a 17-10 advantage. The green and gold held their lead throughout the set and won the second set 25-15.
• Going down early to a fast attack by the Broncos, the Dons responded with a 15-4 scoring run to level the third set at 21. Unable to pull ahead, Santa Clara took the third set 25-22.
• With renewed energy, San Francisco went up 6-1 with a kill and service ace by Goodman. Taking the set 25-22, Lindsay Oldendorf logged the final kill for the Dons.
• Puig recorded the first kill for green and gold in the deciding set, but Santa Clara took the lead, and the Dons could not come back, dropping the set 15-11.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

• Aylen Ayub recorded 47 assists against the Broncos, leading both teams in hitting percentage with .750 on six kills from eight attacks.
• Oldendorf led in kills for the Dons with 15 total and a recorded a .500 hitting percentage.
• Dangerous on both sides of the ball, Goodman tallied eight total blocks and 11 kills for a team-high 17.5 points in tonight's match. 

UP NEXT: 

• San Francisco will be back in action for their final match of the season on Saturday, Nov. 18, when it hosts Pepperdine for Senior Day at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center at 1 p.m.
