DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • Opening the 2023-24 regular season in dominant fashion, San Francisco recorded their highest margin of victory in program history (69) to begin the year on Monday night as the Dons downed Bethesda, 128-59, on the Hilltop. Notably, seven different Dons finished in double figures, with Stefan Todorovic and Jonathan Mogbo pacing the offense with 17 points each.
  • With the win over Bethesda, USF has now won their home opener in six consecutive seasons dating back to 2018-19.
  • Overall, the 128 points scored by San Francisco marked the top scoring output in the NCAA on opening night, six points better than Arizona (122). Impressively, 81 of USF's 128 points came from the bench, which was 12 more than any other team in the country on opening night.
  • In addition to notching their largest margin of victory, USF's 82 points in the first half against Bethesda also marked the most points in a single half by a USF team, surpassing the previous record of 72 vs. LMU on Feb. 25, 1989.
  • Aside from a sharpshooting performance that saw the green and gold finish 65.4 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from beyond-the-arc, USF hit the boards hard as five different Dons grabbed at least five rebounds in Monday's season opener. Additionally, San Francisco forced 25 turnovers across 40 minutes, their most in a game since forcing 24 against Cal Poly on Nov. 11, 2022.
SCOUTING THE RED FLASH:
  • Kicking off the year on a California road trip, Saint Francis fell on the road at UCLA, 75-44, to open the season on Monday, Nov. 6. Despite the loss, Gestin Liberis finished in double figures with 12 points and 3 rebounds while shooting 4-of-7 from the field and 4-of-5 from the free throw line.
  • Playing a West Coast Conference opponent for only the fourth time in program history, the Red Flash have only one win all-time over a WCC school – a 75-49 victory over Saint Mary's in 1969-70.
  • Looking at the roster, Saint Francis is one of the youngest teams in the country as all scholarship players are either freshmen or sophomores. Notably, the average age on the roster is 19.6 years old, second only to VMI at 19.0 years old.
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Thursday will mark the second meeting all-time between San Francisco and Saint Francis as the Dons previously defeated the Red Flash, 75-63, in their lone meeting on the Hilltop on Nov. 13, 2017.
TRACK THE ACTION:
Thursday's contest against Saint Francis will air live on ESPN+ and KNBR 1050 at gametime. Live statistics are also available above and via the team's schedule page.
