BERKELEY/SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Going into a new week of games, the University of San Francisco women's soccer team (0-3) sets out for their second road game just across the bridge at University of California (0-2) this Thursday afternoon. Heading back to Negoesco Stadium on Sunday, the Dons will face Columbia (2-0) at 1:00 pm in a double header with San Francisco men's soccer.

DONS AT A GLANCE:
- Last time out, San Francisco fell at home to UC Davis, 3-1, on Sunday, Aug. 27, but sophomore Cade Mendoza delivered a beautiful strike in the 78th minute to net her first collegiate goal.
- Playing their third Pac 12 opponent of the season, San Francisco is still hungry for their first win after falling to Oregon State and No. 6 Stanford to open the year.
- Through three games, Kira Ybarra currently sits fifth in the WCC in saves (10) and save percentage (.667).
SCOUTING THE BEARS:
- Cal was in action was August 20th as they dropped their match on the road against 2022 NCAA tournament runner up North Carolina by a final score of 3-1. Despite being outshot in the match, junior Karlie Lema recorded the only two shots taken by Cal in the game, with one of them finding its way into the back of the net.
- In their first game against Tennessee on the road, junior Valize King recorded her first career goal as a Bear, which was assisted by Amaya Gray, despite their 4-1 loss to the Vols.
- Sophomore Teagen Wy has been leading the Bears in goal this season. In her two games played, she has made 14 saves while facing 39 total shots.
SCOUTING THE LIONS:
- Playing two games so far this season, Columbia is undefeated with two shutouts and six goals scored from six different players. They head to the West Coast for their first two road matches to play No. 8 ranked Santa Clara this Thursday before heading into the city on Sunday to face the Dons.
- In the offense, senior Nata Ramirez and sophomore Maia Tabion had a strong start to the season as they both recorded one goal and two assists resulting in four points after their first two games.
- Starting both games in goal for the Lions was senior Paige Nurkin who was able to lock it down in the back by collecting two shutouts and a total of 4 saves on 9 shots faced.
SERIES HISTORY:
- Since 1985, Cal leads San Francisco in the head-to-head series with a record of 18-4-3. In last season's matchup between the Dons and the Bears, the two teams tied 1-1 at Negoesco Stadium on September 1, 2022.
- Sunday's game against Columbia will mark the first time in program history the Dons have faced the Lions.
