DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • San Francisco split their two road games last week as the Dons downed Chattanooga, 2-0, on Thursday, Sept. 14 before falling at No. 23 Georgia on Sunday, Sept. 17. Staying hot in her first year on the Hilltop, Olivia Lukrofka scored for the third straight game when she found the back of the net in the 45th minute against the Mocs as the freshman is tied with sophomore Alex Carpio for the team lead with three goals each.
  • With their matchup against the Broncos, the Dons will look to play upset for the second straight game after facing No. 23 Georgia last time out. Notably, San Francisco knocked off No. 19 Santa Clara, 2-0, on Saturday, Sept. 25 for their first-ever win at home over their South Bay rival.
  • As of Wednesday, Sept. 20, Marissa Vasquez continues to be one of the top attackers in the conference as she currently ranks third in the WCC in shots (27) and shots on goal (16).
SCOUTING THE BRONCOS:
  • With one game left before conference play, the Broncos are currently sitting in second place in the WCC and ranked 13th nationally. Outscoring their opponents 17-5, goalkeeper Marle Nicholas has collected two shutouts, only three goals against and 13 saves on 38 shots faced.
  • Offensively, Sally Menti has been a threat for Santa Clara, tallying five assists over nine games played placing her in second in the WCC in assists. The redshirt junior has also scored two goals to lead her team in points with a total of nine.
  • A freshman to look out for is forward Mailin Orozco as she's started in all nine matches and logged a minimum of 50 minutes in each contest. In her second game against Oregon State on Aug. 20 she recorded her first career goal and first assist for a total of three points in the Bronoc's 4-0 win.
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Since 1985, the Broncos have led the overall series between these two programs 38-2-1. In their last matchup at Negoesco Stadium on Oct. 8th, 2022, San Francisco fell short with a score of 4-1, Lindsey Chau getting the single goal for the Dons.
