San Francisco to Host Washington State in Home Finale

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Looking to build off recent momentum, the University of San Francisco women's soccer team (5-8-2, 1-4-2 WCC) will play its final home game of the 2024 campaign this weekend as the Dons will host Washington State (5-5-6, 2-2-3 WCC) on Saturday night at Negoesco Stadium.

Senior night ceremonies will begin at 5:35 pm before the match at 6:00 pm.

DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • Last time out on the pitch, San Francisco picked up their first victory of conference action as the Dons shutout Pacific, 3-0, to record their fourth blank sheet of the year on Sunday, Oct. 27. Notably, Kiana Faucette and Isabella Ayau both notched the first goals of their collegiate careers in the win while Olivia Lukrofka also scored for the green and gold.
  • After recording her first career goal and assist last weekend against Pacific, Ayau now leads the Dons in total points within WCC action with three.
  • Lindsey Chau tallied three shots against the Tigers, all on frame, as the junior continues to lead the Dons in both shots (16) and shots on goal (8) within conference play.
  • With the shutout victory, Kira Ybarra is now tied for third in the WCC among goalkeepers in shutouts per game in conference action (.286). Overall, the Long Beach native now has four shutouts this fall after the win over Pacific.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS:
  • Last time out, Washington State put up a valiant effort against then-No. 10 Santa Clara last Wednesday, Oct. 23 as the Cougars forced a 1-1 draw with the Broncos. Reese Tappan scored the lone goal for WSU in the match in just the fourth minute.
  • Washington State has opened up its first year in the WCC with a 2-2-3 conference record through seven games as the Cougars are looking for their first win since Oct. 9 in their first-ever conference game at Negoesco Stadium.
  • Within conference action, Grayson Lynch and Megan Santa Cruz have headed the offensive attack for Washington State, both tallying six points in WCC play. Lynch leads the Cougars with three goals in league action while Santa Cruz is tied for the most assists in the WCC within conference play with four.
  • As a unit, Washington State ranks third in the conference in assists per match within WCC play, averaging 1.86 assists per contest.
SERIES HISTORY:
Saturday night's match will mark just the fourth all-time meeting between San Francisco and Washington State as the Dons hold a perfect 3-0 all-time series record against the Cougars. San Francisco and Washington State will face off for the first time in nearly three decades, having last played one another on Oct. 1, 1995 when the green and gold picked up a 1-0 win.
