DONS AT A GLANCE:
- San Francisco enters Monday's contest with a 2-3 overall record after narrowly falling to Boise State, 59-57, on Thursday, Nov. 21, at Chase Center. Freja Werth led the Dons in scoring, posting a season-high 18 points. The lone player to score in double figures for the team, Werth was also lethal from range, knocking down all four of her three-point attempts.
- Lorena Barbosa recorded a career-high nine points in 13 minutes off the bench. Along with her stellar shooting performance, connecting on four of her six attempts, she recorded one rebound and posted one of the team's two blocks.
- Beginning to return to form, Leite scored six points, adding five rebounds and four assists. Defensively, she led the team in steals with two.
- Through five games, two players are averaging double-digit points, with Werth leading the program at 11.2 points per game. Debora dos Santos ranks second on the team at 10.8 points while leading the Dons in rebounding at 7.6 per game.
- As a team defensively, the program ranks first in the WCC in scoring defense, holding opponents to 55.4 points per game. The Dons also top the conference in opponent field goal percentage at 33.0 percent.
SCOUTING THE PIRATES:
- Seton Hall enters the week with a 4-2 record but has dropped the last two contests, including a 33-point defeat against No. 6 Southern California at the Acrisure Holiday Invitational in Palm Springs, Fla., on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
- Faith Masonius leads the Pirates offensively, averaging 20.5 points per game. The sixth-year graduate student has scored 20 or more points in four of the team's six games, including a season-high 25 against Southern California.
- Masonius and I'yanna Lops are tied at the top in rebounding for the Pirates, averaging 5.0 per game.
SCOUTING THE LIONS:
- Columbia enters the week with a 6-3 overall record and is coming off a 77-61 loss at No. 13 Duke on Sunday, Dec. 1. The Lions previously won three of their last four, including a dominating 84-50 victory against Pacific at home.
- Three players average in double figures, with Riley Weiss leading the team at 16.7 points per game. Through nine games, Weiss has surpassed 20 points three times, with a season-best 25 occurring on Friday, Nov. 8, in a 77-69 overtime win at Providence. Kitty Henderson and Cecelia Collins also guide the Lions offensively, averaging 15.2 and 13.4 points per game, respectively.
- As a program, Columbia tops the Ivy League in offense, averaging 72.7 points per game while ranking fifth in scoring defense at 62.4 points per game.
- Defensively, the Lions rank second in the conference and 64th nationally in turnover margin at 4.75. Henderson leads the team in steals, registering 22 in nine games, while Perri Page follows with 18.
SERIES HISTORY:
- San Francisco and Seton Hall have faced off twice in program history, splitting both contests. The last time the two teams competed, the Pirates prevailed with a 69-59 win in 2004.
- San Francisco holds a commanding 5-1 advantage over Columbia since the first-ever meeting in 1990. The last meeting occurred last season, when the Lions picked up their first win over the Dons, 74-67, on December 28, 2023, at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.
