- Gonzaga quickly pushed back to retake the lead, 23-22, but the Dons answered right back with a Malik Thomas and-one. - Returning from the locker room, the Zags instantly fought to add to their lead with seven quick points in the first two minutes to lead by six, 45-39, at 17:54.
- Back-to-back baskets from Mogbo helped cut USF's deficit to five, 48-43, with 16 minutes to play.
- Gonzaga was able to gather momentum in the moments to follow as a 20-6 run over the next four-plus minutes to build onto an advantage that the Bulldogs would not relinquish.
- Despite a 13-point second half effort from Thomas, San Francisco ultimately fell to Gonzaga, 89-77, on Monday night.
