DONS AT A GLANCE:
- Returning to the Hilltop last week, San Francisco opened up a three-week home stand against Southern California on Thursday, Sept. 5, but unfortunately fell to the Trojans in a 2-0 contest. Leading the offense, Isabella Ayau and Lindsey Chau each fired off two shots in the match.
- In the young season, USF is 2-0 in games following a defeat, a trend that the green and gold will look to maintain on Thursday night.
- Kira Ybarra continues to be one of the WCC's best goalkeepers, ranking second in the conference in total saves (25) and fourth in the league in saves per game (4.17).
SCOUTING THE TIGERS:
- After a third consecutive NCAA tournament appearance last season, LSU has started off the 2024 season strong with a 4-1-1 record and a perfect 3-0 record on the road.
- Last week, the Tigers went 1-0-1 in a two-game home stand, tying 1-1 with Utah on Thursday, Sep. 5 before defeating UL-Lafayette on Sunday, Sep. 8 in a 3-1 victory.
- Leading the offensive charge, junior midfielder Ida Hermannsdottir leads LSU in goals (4) and total points (8) in the young season.
SERIES HISTORY:
San Francisco and LSU will meet for the first time in nearly 27 years, having met for the first and only time on Oct. 3, 1997 on the Hilltop, where the green and gold nabbed a 3-1 victory.
