SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Capping of an undefeated regular season on the Hilltop, the University of San Francisco men's basketball team (22-7, 12-4 WCC), turned it on down the stretch on Thursday night as the Dons hung on to take down Pacific (9-21, 4-12 WCC), 71-58, at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.
With the win over Pacific, San Francisco secured its first undefeated season (16-0) in War Memorial at the Sobrato Center since 1980-81 (12-0).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Pacific got the scoring started on Thursday night as Elijah Fisher and Jazz Gardner gave the Tigers an early 4-0 lead through the first two minutes of play.
- San Francisco responded in the possessions to follow as Tyrone Riley IV, Ryan Beasley and Marcus Williams all found the bottom of the net to even the score at 6-all at 15:03.
- Taking control again, Pacific used two more baskets from Fisher to jump back in front, 11-8, at 11:38. With 8:53 remaining in the opening half, Fisher converted on a layup to make it 15-10 in favor of the Tigers.
- This lead would be short-lived as San Francisco reeled off an 8-2 run over the next minute and a half as the green and gold went in front, 18-17, on a breakaway dunk from Riley IV at 7:23.
- Continuing to trade baskets as the action moved along, Pacific took the lead back, 24-23 on a second chance slam from Kris Keinys, at 2:38. However, Williams quickly drove the ball up court and cashed in from beyond-the-arc to give the green and gold the advantage once again, 26-24, at 2:27.
- Pacific would take a three-point lead, 29-26, with just around 4 seconds left in the half, but Beasley drove the length of the floor before banking in a floater as time expired to make it a one-point game at halftime, 29-28.
- Coming out of the break, Malik Thomas began the second half with vengeance as the guard scored the first two buckets of the period to put USF up 33-29 just 43 seconds in.
- Riley IV pushed the San Francisco lead to six, 35-29, after sinking a pair of free throws, but Pacific punched back with a 9-2 run to even the game at 37-all after a hook shot from Jazz Gardner at 15:37.
- San Francisco answered by stringing together a few stops defensively combined with more offensive firepower to take a five-point lead, 45-40, following a made jumper from Beasley at 12:29. With 10:42 remaining in regulation, Riley IV brought the crowd to their feet with another fastbreak throwdown, which made it 49-42 in favor of the Dons at 10:42.
- Finding their stride offensively, the green and gold widened the gap, 55-46, as a layup from James O'Donnell after a Pacific turnover gave San Francisco a nine-point lead.
- Pacific went on to close the gap to seven, 55-48, with 7:35 left on the game clock, but this was as close as the Tigers would get for the rest of the night.
- Near the five-minute mark, Thomas netted five more straight points to give the Dons their first double digit lead of the contest, 62-49.
- San Francisco would press its foot on the gas pedal down the stretch as the green and gold went on to secure an undefeated season on the Hilltop with a 71-58 win over Pacific.
