SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The University of San Francisco baseball team (14-22, 4-8 WCC) dropped the series finale on Sunday to LMU (19-17, 7-5 WCC), falling 10-6 in 11 innings at Benedetti Diamond.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Following three scoreless innings, LMU scored first in the top of the fourth with a leadoff home run by Beau Ankeney.
- The Lions added to their lead in the fifth on a Cam Hassert sacrifice fly, extending the advantage to 2-0.
- San Francisco jumped on the board in the bottom of the frame as Jordan Lewis scored on a Tyler Harries sacrifice fly to trim the deficit to 2-1. Lewis and Trevor Harmon posted back-to-back singles to open the inning.
- LMU broke open the game with a four-run sixth inning, pushing the margin to 6-1.
- The green and gold responded in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring three runs to get to within 6-4. Two of the first three batters reached base to begin the inning as Myles Kallingers singled up the middle and Kody Watanabe earned a five-pitch walk. With one out on the board, TJ Rogers singled through the left side of the infield, and Eddison Esquivel later doubled to right field to conclude the scoring.
- Scoring runs in the seventh and eighth innings, the Dons tied the game at six following a Rogers RBI infield single and a sacrifice fly from Zack Ramppen.
- After a scoreless ninth frame, the game went to extra innings, with LMU striking first in the top in the 11th with a leadoff home run from James Bose and a three-run shot from Zion Williams to secure a 10-6 advantage.
- Loading the bases in the bottom of the 11th, San Francisco failed to score as the tying run came to the plate.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Seven players notched a hit, highlighted by Rogers, Lewis, and Esquivel recording multi-hit performances. Rogers led the team, going a three-for-six at the plate with two RBI and a stolen base.
- On the mound, Aidan Risse earned the start, threw 5.2 innings, and matched his season-high in strikeouts with six.
- Gabriel Barrett pitched well out of the bullpen, posting 3.1 solid innings, held LMU scoreless, and recorded five strikeouts.

San Francisco concludes its four-game stretch on the road, traveling to take on Nevada in a non-conference contest at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, Apr. 14, at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park.
