BOISE, Idaho – The University of San Francisco concluded the Boise State Invitational on Saturday morning, falling to Utah Tech, 3-0, at Bronco Gym.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Despite a solid serving performance in the opening frame, San Francisco dropped the first set, 25-22. The Dons recorded five service aces throughout the frame, with Crystal Galaviz and Emilija Arsic combining for four.
- Utah Tech took advantage at the start of the second set, jumping out to an 11-5 lead following a 4-0 scoring run. The Trailblazers continued to dominate throughout the remainder of the frame, winning four of the final five points to pull out the 25-19 victory.
- The Trailblazers never trailed in the final frame as they won six of the first seven points for an early 6-1 lead. Despite the Dons getting to within five points late in the third set, 24-19, following a block and two kills from Astrid Puig and Taylor Mendez, the Trailblazers won the final point to secure the set and match, 25-19.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Galaviz led the program offensively, recording a team-high 11 kills and notching a .346 hitting percentage throughout the three-set match.
- Abby Wadas added another double-digit dig performance, recording 11 to lead the Dons.
- Andrea Fabikovicová posted 21 assists while Cagla Bengi added seven.

San Francisco returns to the Bay when it hosts San Jose State in the USF Challenge at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.
