SAN FRANCISCO - Following another tremendous performance by the San Francisco cross country team at the Arturo Barrios Invitational last Friday, Daniel Abramowicz won West Coast Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week as announced on Tuesday by the conference.Â
This marks the second straight week that a Dons' runner has claimed the conference weekly award after Herbie Johnson won it last week. Along with Faustine Chaboche winning WCC Women's Runner of the Week, the Dons swept this week's WCC Runner of the Week awards.Â
Abramowicz paced the Dons with his 13th-place finish, crossing the finish line with a lifetime-best time of 23:25.3. He was one of three Dons to finish inside the top 20, helping USF finish fourth as a team at an event that featured 44 teams, including nationally-ranked squads, highly-ranked west region teams and multiple All-Americans. USF was one of only two teams to feature three runners in the top 20. Abramowicz's time is the third-best time in the 8K in program history.
San Francisco next competes at the 2026 West Coast Conference Cross Country Championships on Friday, Oct. 30 from Tecolate Shores in San Diego, Calif.Â
