10/7/2026 10:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball
SAN FRANCISCOÂ - The conference game days for the University of San Francisco Men's Basketball team have been determined, as announced by the West Coast Conference on Wednesday.Â
The Dons open conference play on Saturday, Jan. 2 in their first-ever conference meeting against new WCC full-time member Denver. USF rekindles its rivalry with Santa Clara next on Thursday, Jan. 7, at Santa Clara. Following a bye weekend, the Dons remain away from the Hilltop with road tilts in the Pacific Northwest against Seattle U and Portland on Jan. 13 and Jan. 16, respectively.Â
A three-game homestand will be on tap following the road trip with meetings against LMU (Jan. 19), Pepperdine (Jan. 23) and Saint Mary's (Jan. 27).
The other remaining home dates include Feb. 6 against Pacific, Feb. 13 against Portland, Feb. 24 for the rematch against Santa Clara and Feb. 27 in the regular season finale against Seattle U.Â
The 2027 Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Basketball Championship returns to Orleans Arena in Las Vegas for the 19th consecutive year. The reformatted 10-team, nine-game, four-round tournament will be held March 5-9, 2027.
The 2026-27 WCC conference schedule features games on five days of the week - weekday games will be played on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, and weekend games on Saturdays or Sundays - to create flexibility for longtime national television partners ESPN and CBS Sports. With the addition of Denver this season, the WCC will have each of its 10 members playing seven home-and-away series with one only-home opponent and one only-away opponent to make up the 16-game schedule.
Â
Game times and contests selected for national linear broadcast by ESPN and CBS Sports will be announced at a later date. WCC men's basketball regular-season home games that are not nationally televised on ESPN or CBS Sports Network, will be available on ESPN+, the leading sports streaming service.
USF finished the 2025-26 season with an overall record of 17-16, marking five consecutive seasons with an overall winning record. Ndewedo Newbury returns to lead the Dons this season on a roster that features 14 newcomers. Head coach Chris Gerlufsen returns for his fifth season at the helm for the Dons. USF opens the season against Radford on Monday, Nov. 2. The Dons will also host San Francisco State in an exhibition game on Monday, Oct. 26.Â
