Svanberg Secures First-Career Title, Dons Finish First at Ram Masters Invitational

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Highlighted by Nils Svanberg's first-career individual title, the University of San Francisco men's golf team secured a first-place finish with a nine-over 849 at The Ram Masters Invitational Friday afternoon at Fort Collins Country Club.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
San Francisco returns to action on Monday, Sept. 21 – Tuesday, Sept. 22, when it competes in the CDA National Reserve Invitational, hosted by Eastern Washington, at the CDA National Reserve.

TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
- Svanberg paced San Francisco throughout the two-day event, finishing the season-opening tournament with an eight-under par 202 (71-67-64), four strokes clear of the second-place finisher. Following a three-under-par second round, Svanberg saved his best for last, shooting a six-under-par 64 in the tournament's final round, the lowest score of any player in the third round, to secure the victory. He also led the team and ranked tied for first out of 92 total competitors in birdies with 15.
- In his first tournament as a member of the green and gold, Nathan Pouchoulon posted a five-over-par 215 (69-70-76). Pouchoulon registered success in the opening two rounds, highlighted by a one-under par 69 in the first round.
- William Svanström rose 18 spots on the player leaderboard on the final day, shooting an even-par 70 and finishing at seven-over par 217 (71-76-70).
- Svante Palmgren and Theo Anderson rounded out the scoring for San Francisco with a nine-over-par 219 (72-76-71) and a 10-over-par 220 (71-75-74) to finish in a tie for 38th and 47th, respectively.
