2009 Season: Earned her second consecutive West Coast Conference Player of the Year award after going 16-3 on the season all at No. 1... only WCC representative selected to the NCAA Tournament... fell to No. 36 Noemi Scharle of Florida State 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 in NCAA First Round... 15 of her singles wins came in two-set sweeps... highest ranking this season was 53... defeated No. 60 SMC's Alex Poorta 6-4, 6-1 (2/8)... took two wins from SCU's Stephanie Galainena, a 6-0, 6-0 sweep (2/13) and 6-0, 6-1 (4/13)... took LMU's Tina Razloznik to three sets, winning 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-4 (2/28) and also defeated her in the first round of the WCC Championships 6-2, 6-2 (4/17)... defeated No. 50 USD's Juliette Coupez 7-6, 6-2 (3/13)... biggest win came against No. 7 Laura Gioia of Furman, 7-6 (1), 6-2 (3/14)... helped Dons to their first ever win over a ranked team (No. 49 UC Irvine) with a 6-1, 6-3 sweep of Courtney Byron... took a 6-1, 6-1 win over Gonzaga's Aglaya Kokurina... earned a win over No. 65 University of Nevada's Caroline Bailly 6-4, 6-1 (4/11)... went 11-8 in doubles with sophomore Cecilia Gratian to earn WCC Second Team honors.
Did You Know? Heinser is the first Dons athlete to earn consecutive WCC Player of the Year Honors since men's soccer great Staale Soebye won two consecutive awards in 1993 and 1994. She joins an impressive list of Dons men's basketball stars who have also won consecutive awards, including Quintin Dailey (1980-81, 1981-82), Ollie Johnson (1963-64, 1964-65), and Mike Farmer (1956-57, 1957-58).
