Dons Blank Roadrunners in Season Opener

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The University of San Francisco (USF) women's soccer team kicked off the 2026 season with a bang as the Dons blanked CSU Bakersfield (0-1), 4-0, at Negoesco Stadium on Thursday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- San Francisco struck first in the 26th minute when Hannah Burns converted from the penalty spot, giving the Dons a 1-0 advantage.
- Coming out of halftime, the green and gold quickly doubled their lead as Kamryn Kaleiohi found the back of the net in the 55th minute. Sydni Yoshida and Dalia Asad Halim picked up assists on the goal.
- The Dons continued to apply pressure less than 10 minutes later when Alicia Osegueda added San Francisco's third goal of the night. Yoshida recorded the assist, her second of the match.
- San Francisco capped off the scoring in the 83rd minute as Alyssa Jurado found the back of the net to push the advantage to 4-0.
- Defensively, the Dons kept the Roadrunners off the scoreboard throughout the full 90 minutes to secure their first shutout victory of the season.
- Burns opened her senior season with a goal while recording a team-high five shots, including three on target.
- Yoshida finished with two assists, contributing to the Dons' second and third goals.
- Kaleiohi, Osegueda and Jurado each recorded their first goals of the season.
- Grace Wilson earned the clean sheet in goal, recording two saves.
- San Francisco placed nine shots on goal while limiting CSU Bakersfield to five total shots.
