With the loss, USF dropped to 5-23 overall, 3-12 in West Coast Conference play. The Dons can finish the regular season no lower than eighth in the league, but as high as sixth.
San Francisco jumped out to a large lead in the first half, going up by as many as 13 in the first half. Portland posted a furious rally over the remaining 8:25 of the stanza, going on a 11-3 run, before holding USF scoreless over the final 2:20 of the half. The two teams went into the locker rooms tied 37-37 at halftime.
Portland took control in the second half, never looking back. The Pilots outscored the Dons 40-26 in the second half, thanks to an overwhelming defense. Portland led by as many as 18 in the half, before San Francisco cut their deficit to 11 with 3:53 remaining. The Pilots, though, would hold the Dons to just one field goal down the stretch.
In addition to Khlok's 17 points, the junior added six rebounds, two assists and four steals. Freshman Jamie Katuna posted 13 points, while Ale capped her career on the Hilltop with a 10-point performance.
Bailey Barbour led defensive efforts for San Francisco with seven rebounds.
Natalie Day led Portland with 28 points, 12 rebounds and five steals.
The Dons will close out the 2011-12 regular season Saturday at Santa Clara. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
