Ale Scores Game-High 18 At San Diego

Box Score (San Diego) - Rheina Ale led San Francisco with 18 points, as the USF women's basketball team dropped a 74-63 decision to San Diego Thursday night at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. The Dons pulled within nine in the final minutes of the game, but San Diego held on for the victory.

With the loss, San Francisco falls to 4-21 on the season, 2-9 in West Coast Conference play.

San Francisco pulled within 10 late in the game, after Vania Singleterry hit a pair of free throws with just over two minutes left, but San Diego held strong down the stretch. The Dons went down by as many as 19 early in the evening, pulling within ten just at the end of the game.

Ale posted matched a game-high with 18 points, including nine points off 3-point baskets. The senior also added three rebounds, an assist, a block and a steal.

Freshman Aundrea Gordon added 13 points, also hitting three baskets from deep, while adding five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Katy Keating and Singleterry each added seven, while Jamie Katuna posted six.

Bailey Barbour led the USF rebounding efforts with seven boards, while grabbing a career-high three steals.

Dominique Connors led the Toreros with 18 total points, going 8-for-10 from the field.

San Francisco returns to the court Saturday as they host No. 18/19 Gonzaga at War Memorial Gym. The contest in the annual Play4 Kay game. USF encourages all fans to dress in pink as San Francisco supports Breast Cancer research and awareness.
