Complete Final Round Results
PALM DESERT, Calif. -- USF's men's golf team turned in its best round over the final 18 holes of the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, carding a 5-under 283 on Sunday under ideal conditions at The Classic Club in Palm Desert.
The Dons finished 13th in the team competition with a 54-hole score of 872, seven strokes out of the top 10.
Oregon won the team title with a 27-under score of 837, three strokes clear of second place Colorado. Idaho and TCU were a distant third at 15-under 849.
TCU's Julie Brun fired a final round 65 to claim medalist honors with a final score of 203 (-13). Sulman Raza of Oregon State was five strokes back at 208.
Emil Liljeroth and Cory McElyea were USF's top finishers, tying for 36th place at even par 216.
Liljeroth closed with a 2-under 70 while McElyea carded an even par 72 over his final 18 holes.
Jobim Carlos turned in the team's lowest round of the tournament, finishing with a 4-under 68 to move 37 spots up the leader board into a tie for 62nd place at 221 (+5).
Sebastian Crookall-Nixon finished at 223 (+7) following a final round 73, while freshman Max Alcorn tied for 93rd at 227 (+11) after closing with a 75 on Sunday.
USF will return to action on March 10 when the Dons join the field at the Fresno State Lexus Classic at the San Joaquin Country Club.
