Dons Finish Second at Ron Moore Collegiate

FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- USF's women's golf team shot a final round 292 on Sunday to finish second at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate held at Highlands Ranch Golf Club in Fort Collins.
USF's 54-hole team total of 867 (+3) left the Dons five shots behind first place Denver, which shot a final round 286 (-2) to overtake Washington State (870) for the team title. The Cougars had held the 36-hole lead but slipped to third following a final round 297 (+9).
Emelie Lundstrom was USF's top individual finisher, as the senior shot a final round 72 to finish fourth at 214 (-2). The Swede had two birdies and two bogeys on her Sunday card to secure her second straight top-five finish. Lundstrom is now 4-under over her last five rounds dating back to the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational.
Ayaka Suzuki, who opened the tournament with a sparkling 65, tied for fifth place at 1-under 215 following rounds of 74 and 76.
Vanessa Ha climbed into a tie for 15th place at 218 (+2) after shooting a 1-under 71 on Sunday in a round that featured two birdies and just one bogey.
Clare Sorensen tied for 22nd at 220 (+4) after a 73 on Sunday while freshman Mabel Wong shot a final round 76 and tied for 37th at 224 (+8).
The Ron Moore Collegiate caps off a successful fall season for the Dons, which enjoyed one victory, a second place finish and two fourth place showings in their four fall events.
