Live Video: TheW.tvSAN FRANCISCO - The Dons return to Negoesco Stadium this weekend to host the Denver Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon and the Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine on Sunday at 11 a.m. Both matches will be part of a doubleheader with men's soccer, which hosts Canisius and La Salle, respectively, following each women's contest.
USF split their two matches up in the Pacific Northwest this past weekend, defeating Oregon 1-0 this past Friday, before falling at Oregon State 2-1 in overtime on Sunday. Against Oregon, sophomore
Camille Wilson scored the eventual game winner in the fourth minute for the Dons, as they defeated their first Pac-12 opponent since Sept. 24, 2004, when USF topped Oregon State 2-1.
The Dons followed that up with a tightly-contested matchup at Oregon State that saw sophomore
Sonja Giraud tie the match at 1-1 in the 77th minute, forcing overtime for the second time this season. However, the Beavers notched the game winner with just 30 seconds remaining in the first overtime period to take the 2-1 victory.
A live video/audio stream and live stats will be available for both matches this weekend. All live media can be accessed via links on the
women's soccer schedule page at USFDons.com. Pat Olson will be on the call for both the men's and women's matches on Friday, while Charles Wollen will handle play-by-play for Sunday's action.
MAKING IT COUNTHead coach
Jim Millinder inserted sophomore
Camille Wilson into the starting lineup for Friday's match at Oregon, and Wilson didn't waste any time rewarding the decision by notching the game winner in the fourth minute of play. It was just Wilson's fourth-career start, but her second-career goal and first game winner.
