ST. GEORGE, Utah -- USF used a final round 301 to earn a share of third place at the BYU Entrada Classic which wrapped up this afternoon in St. George, Utah.
The Dons final round score of 301 left USF at 917 (+53) for the 54-hole event and tied for third place with Boise State.
Host BYU won the team event with a score of 888 (+24), good for a 23-stroke victory over second-place Iowa (911).
Samantha Martin of Boise State shot a final round 70 to capture medalist honors with a winning score of 214 (-2), good for a four-stroke victory over Southern Utah's Taylor Vizuelia, who finished at 218 (+2). BYU's Lea Garner, who held the 36-hole lead, slipped to third following a final round 77.
Vanessa Ha shot a final round 74 to earn a share of ninth place at 226 (+10), marking her third top-10 performance of the season. Ha was even par on her round but made bogeys on the final two holes and settled for a 74.
Clare Sorensen's final round 74 pushed her 16 spots up the leader board into a tie for 21st place at 232 (+16). The senior had one birdie and three bogies on her Tuesday card.
Alison Lillie tied for 23rd at 233 (+17) following a third round 75 in a round in which the junior made four birdies.
Ayaka Suzuki was also part of the pack at 233 after shooting a final round 78.
Freshman Mabel Wong finished 38th at 239 (+23) after closing with an 83.
USF will return to action next week when the Dons join the field at the Sacramento State Invitational, March 21-22 at Sierra View Country Club.
