SPOKANE, Wash. – The University of San Francisco women's soccer team put two on the board, but it wasn't enough as host Gonzaga defeated USF 6-2 on Friday evening at Luger Field.
Gonzaga (10-2-1, 2-1-0 WCC) scored twice in the first half, the second coming in the final minute of the period to go into the locker room up 2-0. A third goal had the Bulldogs up 3-0 when Sonja Giraud got the Dons (4-8-2, 0-3-0 WCC) on the board. She took a pass from Samantha Jehnings in the 60th minute and beat the keeper to the far post.
Gonzaga scored their fourth goal of the match six minutes later. USF didn't take long to respond. A header by Jehnings on a pass from Giraud to cut the deficit to two. From there Gonzaga put the game away, scoring two goals late.

The road-trip continues on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. when the Dons travel to Portland to take on the Pilots.

- The goal by Giraud was her seventh of the season, a new career high.It also gives her 20 for her career, which ties her for sixth all-time at USF with former Don Mackenzie Kreiser (2011-14).
